What is a one-way taxi from Udaipur?
A one-way taxi is a drop. You ride from Udaipur to another city, the trip ends at the address you gave, and you do not pay for the car to drive back empty. That is the whole product. It exists because many Rajasthan itineraries are open-jaw: you land in Udaipur and fly out of Jodhpur or Jaipur, or you finish a holiday and continue to Ahmedabad by road.
A round-trip quote on a one-direction journey is how local stands used to price every highway run. You can still book a round trip when you need the same driver tomorrow. If you do not, ask for one-way billing and compare that number, not a fare that quietly assumes the car returns to Chetak Circle with nobody in it.
Is a one-way cab cheaper than booking a round trip?
For a single direction, yes, it should be. You are paying for the distance you travel, the driver, fuel, tolls and the permit that route needs. You are not paying a second set of kilometres you will never sit for. The saving is real on long drops such as Udaipur to Jaipur or Udaipur to Ahmedabad, where the empty return would otherwise double the driving.

If you need sightseeing in Jaipur with the same car, that is a round trip or a local Jaipur arrangement, not a one-way drop that secretly includes a second day.
How does a one-way cab from Udaipur to Jodhpur work?
Jodhpur is roughly 250 to 260 kilometres away. The one-way ride is popular because the road passes the turn for Ranakpur, and a lot of travellers want that temple without booking a separate Udaipur sightseeing day. If you want the halt, say “drop in Jodhpur via Ranakpur” and we will price the extra time. If you want the fastest drop, we will not detour.
The trip ends at your Jodhpur hotel, the clock tower area, or the airport if that is the instruction. It does not end at a highway junction with a suggestion that you take a local auto for the last stretch. Send the full address. The same rule applies if you are starting at Udaipur airport and going straight to Jodhpur without a city hotel in between.
Can you book a one-way taxi from Udaipur to Ahmedabad?
Yes. Ahmedabad is about 260 kilometres from Udaipur and is one of the most booked one-way drops, along with Jaipur and Jodhpur. People use it to catch a flight, to reach a home in Gujarat, or to continue toward Vadodara or Surat. The fare is for the drop to the address in Ahmedabad. It is not a round trip in disguise.
Leave enough of the day for the highway and for the city traffic at the far end. A noon pickup does not become a mid-afternoon arrival just because the distance looks moderate on a map. Tell us if you have a flight from Ahmedabad and at what time. We will set a Udaipur departure that protects that flight instead of hoping the road stays empty.
Which other one-way routes do people book from Udaipur?
Mount Abu, Chittorgarh, Ajmer, Delhi, Kota, Surat and Vadodara all come up as one-way searches. Short drops such as Mount Abu or Chittorgarh are straightforward. Very long drops such as Delhi are a full-day or overnight driving job and should be discussed as such, with a clear start time and a realistic arrival, not a promise that ignores rest.

How is a one-way drop different from an outstation round trip?
Use one-way when the car’s job ends at the destination. Use a round-trip outstation booking when the same chauffeur should wait overnight and drive you the next day, or bring you back to Udaipur. Mixing the words is how people buy the wrong product. “Outstation to Jaipur” can mean either. “One-way drop at this Jaipur hotel, no return” means one thing.
Both use the same fleet and the same verified drivers. The invoice logic is the same. Only the kilometres you are asked to pay for should change. If a quote for a one-way trip looks identical to a quote for a round trip, ask which empty kilometres are inside it. A straight answer is part of what you are buying.
How do you confirm a one-way taxi booking?

If the plan changes, tell us early. A cancelled flight or a shifted hotel is easy to fix the day before and awkward to fix after the car has left Panchwati. One-way travel is the right way to leave Udaipur when you are not coming back. Book it as that, with the real address, and the fare will match the journey.
Can a one-way trip start at the airport instead of a hotel?
Yes. A lot of one-way drops should start at Maharana Pratap Airport and never enter the Old City at all. You land at Dabok, meet the driver, and leave for Jodhpur, Jaipur, Ahmedabad or Mount Abu. Book it as an airport pickup plus a one-way drop, with the flight number and the final address in the same message. Do not book a city transfer and then ask the driver on the highway to continue for another 250 kilometres.
The fare is higher than a hotel-to-airport ride because the destination is another city, and it is still cheaper than paying a city cab and a second operator at the kerb. If the flight is late, we move the departure. Tell us if someone is meeting you only if the flight is on time. A one-way car can wait through a normal delay. It should not be your backup plan and a prepaid taxi’s backup plan at the same time.
What should you know about permits when the drop leaves Rajasthan?
A drop inside Rajasthan and a drop into Gujarat are not the same paperwork. Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat need the car to be ready for the state border, which is why the permit belongs in the quote before you leave Udaipur.
